Unilateral changes with continued-use consent

Service can be discontinued anytime
βAccount terminationπ¬ WeChat can remove features or shut down the whole service at any time, and you agree to this in advance.

Auto-renewing subscriptions
πAuto-renewsπ¬ Non-subscription auto-charges get advance notice, but pure subscriptions can renew automatically WITHOUT prior notice each cycle. Watch subscription billing carefully.

Generally no refunds
πOtherπ¬ Outside of mandatory legal rights (like the EU 14-day rule), WeChat is not obligated to refund you for anything, even unused items.

Fees can change on publication
πCan change terms anytimeπ¬ Prices can be raised at any time simply by publishing the change in the app; your only recourse is to stop using the paid feature.
βWe may change any fees that we charge for WeChat (or any parts of WeChat) at any time upon publication within WeChat.β
30-day window to dispute wrong charges
πOtherπ¬ If WeChat bills you in error, you must complain within 30 days or you lose the right to a refund for that mistaken charge.
βyou must contact us within 30 days of the date of the relevant charge; and no refunds will be given for any erroneous charges after such a 30-day period.β
Broad perpetual content license
πClaims your contentπ¬ You keep ownership, but you grant WeChat a forever, free, worldwide, transferable and sub-licensable license to use, adapt, publish and distribute your content β including for future services you can't foresee.
βyou are giving us and our affiliate companies a perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use Your Content (with no fees or charges payable by us to you) for the purposes of providing, promoting, developing and trying to improve WeChat and our other services, including new services that we may provide in the future.β
Content retained after you leave

βwe will share your information with Weixin to the extent necessary to facilitate your Interoperable Interaction and your information may be retained, shared and/or stored by Weixin in a different manner to what is described in these Terms or the WeChat Privacy Policy.β
No responsibility for third-party offerings

Purchased Items are not owned by you

Access to device and contacts

Termination at sole discretion

Content deleted on termination with no return

Singapore law and SIAC arbitration
πJurisdictionπ¬ For most non-US users, disputes are governed by Singapore law and must go to arbitration in Singapore β potentially costly and inconvenient.

Mandatory pre-arbitration informal process
