Terms can change with continued-use consent

Mandatory features may force account loss

Content can be removed at sole discretion
βAccount terminationπ¬ Hinge can delete or edit anything you post at any time for any reason, and has no obligation to review or display your content.

Perpetual, transferable content license
πClaims your contentπ¬ You give Hinge a forever, worldwide, free license to use, modify, publish, and even sell/transfer your content (photos, text) β including using it in advertising, in any format now or in the future.

Exclusive license over derivative works
πClaims your contentπ¬ Any derivative works (like screenshots) created through the service belong exclusively to Hinge, not you.
βHinge's license shall be exclusive with respect to derivative works created through use of our Services. For example, Hinge would have an exclusive license to screenshots of our Services that include Your Content.β
Broad disclosure of account info
π₯Data collectionπ¬ Hinge can share your account info and content with authorities or third parties based on a good-faith belief it's necessary for legal, safety, or fraud reasons.
βYou agree that Hinge may access, preserve, and disclose your account information, including Your Content, if required to do so by law or upon a good faith belief that such access, preservation, or disclosure is reasonably necessaryβ
Automatic subscription renewal
πAuto-renewsπ¬ Subscriptions renew automatically and you keep getting charged until you actively cancel. You must cancel through the store you subscribed with (e.g. Apple/Google).
βIf you purchase a subscription, it will automatically renew until you cancel, in accordance with the terms disclosed to you at the time of purchaseβ
Deleting account forfeits paid benefits
βAccount terminationπ¬ If you delete your account, you lose any remaining subscription time you already paid for β no refund and no way to reaccess it.
βif you terminate your Hinge membership by deleting your Hinge account as set forth in Section 9, and you have an Internal Purchase that includes an automatically renewing subscription, your subscription will be canceled immediately when you delete your Hinge account and you will permanently lose access to any remaining subscription benefitsβ
Personalized/variable pricing
πOtherπ¬ Hinge charges different prices to different people based on your region, activity and history β you may pay more than others for the same thing.
βWe frequently offer promotional rates - which can vary based on region, length of subscription, bundle size, past purchases, account activity, and more.β
Chargeback triggers termination
βAccount terminationπ¬ If you dispute a charge with your bank/card, Hinge can immediately shut down your account.
βIf you initiate a chargeback or otherwise reverse a payment made with your External Service Account, Hinge may terminate your account immediately in its sole discretionβ
Virtual Items non-refundable
πOtherπ¬ Roses, Boosts and other virtual items are never refundable. If your account is banned or closed, you lose any unused items with no compensation.

Installment balance remains due after cancel

Termination without refund or notice
βAccount terminationπ¬ Hinge can ban you at its sole discretion β even for behavior off the app β with no refund and often without telling you why.
βHinge also reserves the right to review and, if appropriate, suspend, terminate, or ban your account without a refund if Hinge believes that you have violated these Terms, misused our Services, or behaved in a way that Hinge regards as inappropriate or unlawful, on or off our Services, in our sole discretion.β

Consumer report authorization

Class action and jury trial waiver

Retroactive application of arbitration

Mandatory informal process before claims

Loser-pays after settlement offer
βοΈForced arbitrationπ¬ If you reject Hinge's settlement offer and then win less (or lose), you may have to pay Hinge's legal costs and attorney fees.
βIf the award is issued in the opposing Party's favor and is less than the Respondent's settlement offer or if the award is in the Respondent's favor, the opposing Party must pay the Respondent's costs incurred after the offer was made, including any attorney's fees.β
Texas law and forced venue
πJurisdictionπ¬ Any court case must happen in Dallas, Texas under Texas law, no matter where you live β potentially expensive and inconvenient for most users.
βany claims arising out of or relating to this Agreement... will be litigated exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Dallas County, Texas, U.S.A. You and Hinge consent to the exercise of personal jurisdiction of courts in the State of Texas and waive any claim that such courts constitute an inconvenient forum.β
Broad user indemnification
π‘οΈLimits their liabilityπ¬ If someone sues Hinge because of something you did or posted, you have to cover Hinge's legal costs and damages.

Cross-affiliate data sharing and bans
πShares with third partiesπ¬ Hinge shares your data with sister dating apps (Tinder, OkCupid, Match, etc.) and a ban on Hinge can get you banned across all of them.
βwe may share data between our affiliates for the safety and security of our users and may take necessary actions if we believe you have violated these Terms, including banning you from our Services and/or our affiliates' services (such as Tinder, OkCupid, Match, Meetic, BLK, LoveScout24, OurTime, and Pairsβ
