You never own what you buy
📄Claims your content💬 Everything you 'buy' (games, skins, V-Bucks items) is only licensed to you. You don't own it, Epic can revoke it, and you can't sell or transfer it.

🤖AI training on your data💬 You are prohibited from using Epic's game content to train generative AI systems. This restricts you, not Epic; it's Epic protecting its own IP.

Termination without notice for suspected cheating
⛔Account termination💬 Epic can suspend or permanently terminate your account without warning if it thinks you cheated. Merely having cheat software present on your device can trigger this.
“If we find evidence that you have engaged in Fraud or Cheats, we may take action against you or your Epic Games Account (including suspending or terminating it) without prior notice.”
Anti-cheat tools collect device data
📥Data collection💬 Epic's anti-cheat software scans and reports information about programs running on your device, not just the game itself.

Secret evidence in disputes

Continued use = acceptance of changes
📝Can change terms anytime💬 Epic can change the terms and you automatically agree just by continuing to play. Your only real way to reject changes is to stop using the products.

Voice/text chat recorded and AI-analyzed

Permanent ban for repeat/serious offenses

Virtual currency has no cash value
📌Other💬 V-Bucks and similar currencies can never be converted back to real money. Once spent, they only have value inside Epic's games.

Epic can devalue your in-game content

Lose everything on termination, no refund
⛔Account termination💬 If your account is terminated (by you or Epic), you lose everything you ever paid for or earned, including account balances and purchased content, with no refund.

Termination with no future liability
⛔Account termination💬 Epic can shut down games or services and only needs to post a website notice (not contact you directly). After that, it owes you nothing.
“In these instances, whenever commercially feasible to do so, Epic will give you thirty (30) days' advance notice by posting a notice to our websites related to the respective Licensed Product(s). In such cases, we will not have any future obligations or liabilities to you.”
Liability capped at 12 months of payments
🛡️Limits their liability💬 No matter how much harm you suffer, Epic's maximum liability is limited to what you paid in the last 12 months, which could be zero if you play for free.

Products provided 'as-is' with no warranties

Broad indemnification obligation
🛡️Limits their liability💬 If someone sues Epic because of something you did, you have to pay Epic's legal costs and any damages. This can be financially significant.

North Carolina law and courts, jury waiver
📍Jurisdiction💬 Any court dispute must happen in North Carolina under NC law, and you give up your right to a jury trial. This can be costly and inconvenient if you live elsewhere.
“any dispute, claim, or controversy between you and Epic ... will be decided under North Carolina law (where Epic Games is headquartered) ... you and Epic submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Superior Court of Wake County, North Carolina ... and any right to a jury trial.”
Mandatory binding arbitration
⚖️Forced arbitration💬 Most disputes must go through private arbitration instead of court, with no judge or jury and limited ability to appeal or gather evidence.
“You and Epic agree that unresolved Disputes will be settled by Binding Individual Arbitration conducted by National Arbitration and Mediation ("NAM") ... THERE IS NO JUDGE OR JURY IN ARBITRATION, AND DISCOVERY PROCEDURES AND APPELLATE RIGHTS ARE MORE LIMITED THAN IN COURT.”
Class action waiver (cannot opt out)
🚫No class action💬 You give up the right to join class actions. Notably, even if you opt out of arbitration, you're still bound by this waiver, so you can never band together with other users.

Shortened 2-year limitation period

“Epic will receive Sony Entertainment Network account ("SEN Account") information, including your email address and Online ID ... Your SEN Account privacy settings will not apply to your Epic Games Account.”
Apple is a third-party beneficiary
🔗Shares with third parties💬 On iOS, Apple can directly enforce these terms against you even though Apple isn't a direct party to your agreement.
“Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right ... to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.”
Note: Users can delete their Epic Games Account at any time via Epic Games Support. There is a 30-day right to opt out of Binding Individual Arbitration (but NOT the class action waiver). No explicit data access or portability rights are described in this ToS (these may be covered by a separate Privacy Policy).
