Perpetual, irrevocable license to your content
πClaims your contentπ¬ Anything you upload (photos, feedback, logos, etc.) can be used by Cash App forever, anywhere, for any purpose, and it can license this to others β with no payment to you and no way to revoke it.
βYou grant us and our subsidiaries, affiliates, and successors a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully-paid, transferable, irrevocable, perpetual, and sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, prepare derivative works of, distribute, publicly perform, and publicly display your Content throughout the world in any media for any reason.β
Company is sole arbiter of ownership disputes
πOtherπ¬ If there is a fight over who owns an account, Cash App alone decides the outcome and you have no independent appeal.
βIn the event of any dispute between two or more parties as to account ownership, we will be the sole arbiter of such dispute.β
Free use of your submitted ideas
πOtherπ¬ Any suggestions or ideas you send can be used by Cash App with no compensation or credit to you.
βsubmitting Ideas is entirely voluntary, and we will be free to use such Ideas as we see fit and without any obligation to you.β
AI features access your account and transaction data

βAI-Powered Chat and Interfaces may access and process your Account Information, transaction history, balances, and usage patterns.β
You forfeit interest on your balance
πOtherπ¬ Unless you specifically enroll in the yield feature, Cash App keeps any interest earned on your money instead of paying it to you.
βUnless you are enrolled in the Savings Yield feature, you irrevocably transfer and assign to the Company all rights in any interest accrued on your Cash App Balance and Savings Balance funds.β
No recourse for scams or misdirected payments

βWe are not required to stop, cancel, or recover funds associated with a misdirected Payment Instruction.β
Automatic clawback of 'invalid' payments
πOtherπ¬ Cash App can decide a payment was invalid and pull money back out of your balance or linked bank account without needing your further approval.
βIf we later determine a P2P Payment was invalid for any reason, you authorize us to move funds from the applicable Cash App Balance or Linked Account in an amount equal to the P2P Payment.β
No right to stop card payments
πOtherπ¬ Once a Cash App Card transaction is started, you cannot cancel or stop it.
βYou do not have the right to stop payment on a transaction originated with your Cash App Card.β
Card cancellation at sole discretion
βAccount terminationπ¬ Cash App can shut off or cancel your card whenever it chooses.
βWe may suspend access to or cancel your Cash App Card at our sole discretion.β
Total loss risk and irreversible crypto transfers

Fees changeable without notice; no cancellations
πOtherπ¬ Crypto transaction fees can be raised at any time with no warning, and once you submit a buy/sell/transfer you cannot cancel it.
βWe may charge fees for Virtual Currency transactions. We may change the fees at any time, with or without notice.β
Company is not your broker/advisor
πOtherπ¬ Cash App owes you no fiduciary duty on crypto β you bear all the risk of your decisions.
βYou agree that we are not acting as your broker, intermediary, agent, or advisor, or in any fiduciary capacity.β
No warranties on other sellers' goods/services

Liability for unauthorized transactions rises with delay
π‘οΈLimits their liabilityπ¬ You must report a lost/stolen card or unauthorized transfer fast. Report within 2 business days to cap your loss at $50; wait longer and you could lose $500 or more, and after 60 days you may not get anything back.
βIf you tell us within 2 Business Days, you can lose no more than $50; if not, you could lose as much as $500. If your statement shows transfers you did not make and you do not tell us within 60 days of the first statement, you may not get back money lost after the 60 days.β
Business accounts liable for all unauthorized transactions

Company profits on exchange rate
πOtherπ¬ Cash App can build a hidden markup into the currency exchange rate when you send money abroad.
βCash App may make money on the exchange rate applied to your transaction.β
Broad license to your AI inputs and outputs
πClaims your contentπ¬ Whatever you type into or get out of the AI features can be broadly used by Cash App under a license you grant them.
βYou are responsible for any Input and Output ("AI Content"); you grant the Company a broad license to your AI Content.β
AI inputs shared with third parties
πShares with third partiesπ¬ What you enter into AI features may be passed to outside companies to make the features work.
βWe may share your Input with third party service providers to enable AI Product functionality.β
Broad right to seize funds across your accounts
πOtherπ¬ Cash App can pull money from any of your balances, linked bank accounts, or cards to recover what it believes you owe β even if it drives your account negative.
βYou authorize the Company to debit, charge, setoff against and otherwise recover funds from your Account, Cash App Balance, Savings Balance, any Linked Account, any connected Company Account, and any registered payment instrument, if you owe amounts to us or for reason of fraud or illegal activity, or in connection with a disputed transaction. Recovery may cause your account to become negative.β
Termination for any reason at any time
βAccount terminationπ¬ Cash App can suspend or close your account whenever it wants, for any reason, without explanation.
βWe may terminate these Cash App Terms, suspend or terminate your Account or access to any Service, at any time for any reason.β
Funds can be held after closure
ποΈData retentionπ¬ After your account closes, Cash App can keep holding your money for a range of reasons before releasing it.
βWe reserve the right to hold your funds to protect against reversals, chargebacks, claims, fees, fines, penalties, or a pending investigation.β
Escheatment of inactive funds
πOtherπ¬ If you leave your account unused for a long time, your remaining balance may be turned over to the state as unclaimed property.
βIf your Account is inactive for an extended period, it may be deemed βunclaimedβ or βabandonedβ under your state's law, and the Company will escheat remaining funds as required by law.β
Broad indemnification obligation

βYou will indemnify, defend, and hold us and our processors harmless from and against any claims arising out of or relating to your breach of representations/warranties/obligations, your wrongful or improper use of the Services, your violation of any third-party right, your violation of any law, third-party claims regarding processing of your customer's Personal Information, and any party's access/use of the Services with your credentials.β

Liability capped at $500

Mandatory individual arbitration

Class action and jury trial waiver

βANY ARBITRATION WILL ONLY BE ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS; CLASS ARBITRATIONS, CLASS ACTIONS, REPRESENTATIVE ACTIONS, MASS ACTIONS, AND CONSOLIDATION ARE NOT PERMITTED. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION.β
California law and Oakland/Alameda venue
πJurisdictionπ¬ Any court case must be brought in California, which could be inconvenient and costly if you live elsewhere.
βCourt proceedings (other than small claims) are subject to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the state courts in the City of Oakland and County of Alameda, California, or federal court for the Northern District of California.β
